Grandma's fruit room

The fruit room was originally used to store the freshly-picked fruits. It was a bright, well-ventilated room maintained at a constant temperature. It was here that my gran kept the apples and pears from the orchard, two typical Mayenne fruits which form the basis of numerous local drinks such as cider, pommeau or poiré. This storage room has been renovated to offer comfort as well as light but this pastel-toned 20m2 room (excluding bathroom) still retains the flavours and freshness of the orchard.
